[LGHSMB] Updates for the week of 11/2/09

  • There is a Music Boosters Meeting this Wednesday, November 4th, at 7 PM in the Band Room. We have some important business to talk about, so please plan to attend!
  • We have a new Volunteer Coordinator! I am thrilled to announce that Susan Flatness has stepped up to the position of Volunteer Coordinator. Effective immediately, Susan will be responsible for managing our volunteer database. You can reach Susan at volunteer@lghsmusic.net. Thanks, Susan!
  • The Step-Up Award for the Gilroy Competition goes to--the Marching Band! In the face of many absences (including 2/3 of our saxophone trio and 1/2 of our snare drums!), the band and color guard came together, stepped up and delivered a 5 point improvement over the previous competition. Plus, we delivered the best "Drum Major Salute" at the awards ceremony--Hubert's Zombie Salute! (no, there's not an award for that--but there should be) Did anyone get the salute on video?   • We still need a few volunteers for the Wilcox Game on Friday! Come see our field show this Friday evening at the Wilcox football game. We're still looking for one more cookie baker and someone to roll up the bleacher pads after the game. Go to http://www.i-volunteeronline.com/lghsband.asp?EventId=70090911135911 to volunteer! We will also need a bit of help at the end of the game for the post-game Potato Feed.
